Day# 14......THE VA WAY........Wait and Wait and Wait........Being entrapped in a small confined area like a prisoner is bad enough. I mentioned a few days back how pathetic the inhumane area given to our Female Veterans. Now lets go to the other extreme. Imagine if you will, you are a tiny timid older female Veteran locked up like a caged animal , you have a fall. You are sent out for an ex-ray and it 's verified that your hip was broken. Preparations are made for you to be transported to Nashville for treatment. Now Women are separated for safety, except when they are paraded around in front of the men during meal and medication time. So what does the brain trust do? They wheel this timid suffering scared to death of men into the entrance and exit doors. Right in the middle of the men. Add to the fact that you are on a stretcher in your pajamas and waiting for hours at least 5 hours, no pain meds, no chance of going to the bathroom crying and scared. People going back and forth males staring at you. The Nurses begging/complaining to do something for her. As usual no action taken, we the Medical staff will take another hit for trying to do something for one of our Veterans. We the medical staff have a two front battle every day working on the ward we do. Caring for over the top mentally ill and hurting Veterans, the second is the brass. They have no idea how the day to day workings of a ward operates. The brass is mixed with civilians and some Veterans. The rest of the mixture are non-medical people who absolutely no idea what even goes on, talk about being clueless, they are and can be dangerous due to their ignorance of what it means to have PTSD. Add also the fear of men, now add this story of what was allowed to occur if I was a Female whether a Veteran or not this would send chills down most females reading this. Please help me get the word out to get a honest investigation of the corrupt/ inept/ clueless VA.
